Professional Background

Before joining COSECURE, I served as vice chancellor of public safety for the University of Colorado, Boulder, where I was responsible for overseeing CU Boulder’s police department, event and emergency management, flight operations, office of threat assessment, and all administrative operations of the public safety division. After 30 years of public safety experience, the timing was right to move home to Chicago and be near family but still work in the profession in a different capacity.

I began my law enforcement career in municipal policing before moving into multiple leadership roles in higher education. Throughout my career as a thought leader and change agent, I’ve held executive level positions as Vice President, Chief Safety Officer, Associate Vice President, and Chief of Police at public and private institutions of higher education in both urban and suburban communities.

I hold a master’s degree in criminal justice administration from Boston University, a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Michigan State University, and am a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command. I’ve also served as president of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), chair and commissioner of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), and have held other leadership roles that advanced collaboration across the campus safety community.

I’m excited to join COSECURE at a time when institutions are seeking practical, experience-driven guidance on safety and security. COSECURE’s mission and expertise align closely with that philosophy, and I look forward to helping clients strengthen their resilience and readiness.
