Don Hough serves as Vice President of Public Sector at COSECURE, where he leads the firm’s work with federal, state, and local government clients to advance integrated approaches to physical security, cybersecurity, and emergency preparedness. Don brings more than 15 years of experience leading complex safety and resilience initiatives across government and education. Prior to joining COSECURE, he served as Deputy Associate Director for School Safety at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and as a Director of the Federal School Safety Clearinghouse and SchoolSafety.gov, where he helped shape strategy and oversaw multimillion-dollar programs with broad, cross-sector impact.
Known for bridging policy and practice, Don integrates physical security, cybersecurity, and emergency management into actionable guidance adopted by public-sector organizations across the country. He has led interagency collaboration and built trusted partnerships with government, education, and safety leaders across all 50 states. Don holds a Master of Public Policy from American University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern Illinois University.
