Workplace Violence Prevention

In recent years, workplace violence has come under closer scrutiny from the media and regulatory agencies. OSHA recommends that a formal workplace violence prevention program—backed by leadership, educating employees, and defining clear threat management processes—is the best way to prevent incidents.

Hands In Stack For Teamwork

Many workplace violence situations follow identifiable patterns of pre-attack behaviors, during which perpetrators often exhibit “leakage” signs indicating potential violence. Recognizing these signs allows for early intervention to de-escalate the situation.

Our Situational Threat Awareness Assessment & Action Training (STAAAT) program equips employees to identify and evaluate signs of impending violence, enabling them to alert the appropriate personnel before a situation escalates to active shooter incidents.

At COSECURE, our consultants are nationally recognized experts in workplace violence prevention. Drew Neckar has extensive experience in developing workplace violence programs and is a graduate of the Gavin de Becker & Associates Threat Assessment Training Academy. We are well-positioned to assess your current prevention program and help design and implement a strategy tailored to your organization’s unique needs.

Perpetrators rarely engage in extreme workplace violence without progressing through several stages of pre-attack behaviors. Their “leakage” of intent during these stages offers the opportunity for intervention and de-escalation.
